A friend suggested that I have a look at Facebook. I am sure that you have heard of it. Most likely you are already signed up.

So I had a look. Unfortunately, you cannot look at much without joining. So I joined.

Now I have some Facebook friends. I think I have more virtual friends than real ones. My daughter, a Facebook afficianado, told me to get an aquarium and a zoo. So I did, and promptly ignored them. Facebook animals do not like being ignored.

My zoo is now a barren wasteland, not a plant or animal to be seen. I am sure my aquarium will soon go the same way. Although, at the moment, my daughter is feeding my fish.

My great fear is that by ignoring my Facebook friends they, too, will also desert me. I will be left a lonely, virtual pariah.

So there you go. Facebook is an exact replica of real life!
